It’s basically a thick banana flavored pudding. This makes the pudding much more flavorful and creamy than the banana.

To turn the banana cream into a banana pudding, I folded in some whipped cream. I make stabilized whipped cream by whipping heavy cream with dissolved gelatin. This keeps the banana pudding stable without deflation. You can skip this step if you like, but I prefer to add the gelatin. This foundation is basically a banana flavored diplomat creme.
